TabBrain ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
The Short Version
- Free tier (local AI): We collect nothing. Your tab data never leaves your browser.
- Pro tier (cloud AI): We send tab titles and URLs to our API for analysis. We don't store them.
- No tracking, no analytics, no selling your data.
What Data We Collect
Free Tier (Local AI)
None. When you use TabBrain with Ollama or another local AI provider, all processing happens on your device. Your tab data never leaves your browser. We have no servers involved.
Pro Tier (TabBrain AI)
When you use TabBrain AI (our cloud-powered Pro feature), we temporarily process:
- Tab titles - The names shown on your browser tabs
- Tab URLs - The web addresses of your open tabs
This data is:
- Sent securely (HTTPS) to our API
- Processed by our AI provider (Groq) to generate organization suggestions
- Deleted immediately after processing - we do not store your tab data
License Validation
When you enter a Pro license key, we:
- Send the license key to our server to verify it's valid
- Store a record that the license has been activated
- Do not associate the license with any browsing data
What We Don't Collect
- Browsing history
- Page content
- Personal information
- Cookies or tracking data
- Device identifiers (beyond what's needed for license limits)
- Analytics or usage patterns
How We Use Your Data

We never:
- Sell your data
- Share it with third parties (except Groq for AI processing)

Third-Party Services
Groq (Pro tier only)

LemonSqueezy (payments)
Pro subscriptions are processed by LemonSqueezy. They handle payment details - we never see your card number. LemonSqueezy's privacy policy: https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/privacy
Data Security
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- We don't store sensitive data on our servers
- License keys are validated but not logged with browsing data
- Our API runs on Cloudflare Workers (edge computing, no persistent storage)
Your Rights
You can:
- Use Free tier to avoid any data transmission
- Request deletion of any license records by emailing support@tabbrain.app
- Revoke Pro access anytime via the extension settings
Children's Privacy
TabBrain is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be noted on this page with an updated date.
